November's trip to the surgeon

We started out around 5:20am or so on 11/6/09. The rental car place didn't have our usual Pontiac G6 so we had to settle for a Kia Amante. Yeah right...settle....I think not!!! Jim LOVED the car!!! It had every little gadget you could ever think of.

The ride went smoothly, and I actually stayed awake the whole time!!!!

This is Jim enjoying the car just after we paid our toll. He was trying not to smile for the camera. I however had other plans!!! Muwahahahahaha!!!!

The sky was absolutely gorgeous!!! I tried to get a better shot but the cars on the bridge were not cooperating. Darn San Francisco drivers!! lol. This was the best shot I could get. But it's still really pretty.

We have a tradition every month when we go to SF for my doctors appointment. First we stop in at a Denny's and have breakfast, and much needed coffee for Jim. Then we head on over to the Walgreen's that is in the parking lot. I usually get some obnoxious toy to torment Jim on the trip. This time I got myself a HUGE Bobo that squeaked!!! And it was BRIGHT green too!!!! Here is Jim and my Bobo getting acquainted. LOL.

We got to my doctor's office and they took my weight......347!!! I'm down 6 pounds!!!!!! And that is without exercise and WITH eating some chocolate all month!!! Just think of what I could do if I got back on track. One could only hope. Then the nurse took my blood pressure....hee hee hee.....it was 98/49. She asked me how I was feeling....I was feeling fine! I didn't know I was dead. LOL. She took it again on the other arm and it came out 121/79. Now that's better.

Anyway, I talked to my surgeons assistant and he told me that the 6 pounds was good but they want me to loose 8-10 a month. No problem!! So no fill this month and I go back again on 12/4/09. I WILL have a significant weight lose by then. Now where to hide all of that chocolate from me.......wait I can't tell you, then I can find out where I hid it. Okay can you tell I've lost my mind?!?!?! It must be the cold I got. Hee hee hee.

How this whole thing got started....

I have been heavy almost all my life. My primary doctor kept telling me that I would be a great candidate for bariatric surgery. I really didn't want to do it. The thought of someone rearranging my innards was not ok to me. So I put off the idea for a good 5 years. Well it wasn't until one Halloween night and an innocent little girl changed my mind.

It was Halloween 2007. I had decorated the front porch and my mom and I were going to hand out candy to all of the trick or treaters. I had a few animatronic things going and the kids were loving the fact that they could come up and get close to everything. Towards the end of the evening a very cute little girl came up to the porch. She put her candy sack down and started staring at everything moving. She was just totally enthralled by it all. Then she looks at me and asks me, "did you get that fat by eating candy?" I smiled and told her yes I did. She went back to watching everything again. Then out of the blue she tells me that I'm going to break the chair I'm sitting in. Again smiling, I tell her it's ok, it's a good strong chair. By this time I thought the little girl was never going to leave. She finally got her candy and left with her grandpa who kept appologizing to my husband for her. It was ok, she was a kid and I don't mind that kids speak what they see. It kind of stung a little bit but it's not like I didn't know I was fat!!! But it wasn't until I put the photos my hubby took of that night on my computer. I saw what the little girl saw. OMG (Oh my gosh)!!!! No wonder she thought I was going to break my chair. I was almost in tears. It was the next business day that I called my doctor and asked for a referral for surgery.
